He played here earlier this year. His gtr player Buddy Whittington is the real thing, a truly awesome player (but didn't Mayall always hire the best?) Also opening w/ an acoustic set and sitting in w/ the Bluesbreakers on electric was Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown fame. John's harp & keybd work was fine but his voice & gtr playing I've always found a bit annoying. All & all it was a fine show & he was in good shape considering he must be about 73 yrs. old.
