Yes, Scouse is the accrnt of people from Liverpool, who are thus known as scousers and famous for that and the sense of humour that go with it.
But scouse was and is a meat stew. Originally I think eaten by sailors (Liverpool was a... mmm the(?) major port of Britain) and adapted into a lamb stew popular amongst Liverpudlians.
