I was sitting downstairs with fred watching a drama series called Huff... have you seen it? when there was this really great song on it and after a few false searches I found it was Damien Rice and I guess I have to buy something now.
It reminded me a bit of a lot of things and I went upstairs with the cats and played Micah P Hinson And The Gospel Of Progress and that made me think of the baroque pop of old as this nwer stuff is more campfire baroque and so I pulled out... oh did I mention a bottle of sav blanc I should have I guess its a Geoff Hardy and very nice... anyway I moved on to Forever Changes and then after thinking about the stories of Arthur Lee thinking he was about to die and writing his great last statement on that disc I looked at Four Sail to see if I wanted to play something off it and that got me remembering Drachen Theaker and a night in East london when we spent most of it hitting boxes and books while Mick Hutchison (wow he was good) played blues guitar and my friend Byron sang Shakespeare sonnets and just as I was thinking about all these dead people a bat flew into my house... I mean it collided with it... BANG and landed on the deck as the cats charged it and it shrieked as it flew off. The bats here have 3 foot wing spans.
Oh I said I would ramble.
Did this really happen?
yes, but it would be just as good a story if it hadn't.
