Dave - No, I haven't (but obviously I own both LPs).
But this analog vs. digital debate brings up something interesting. I recall something about a Roxy Music first album cut (I think it was "If There Is Something") - where a particular passage simply could not track properly on vinyl . This could only be fully corrected in the CD release.
The Bob Ludwig remastered HDCD release is superb! I guess my opinion is that the most carefully and skillfully engineered/remastered CDs by the best engineers are excellent and good enough for me. I go by a handful of top-notch engineers when making buying decisions as I know their work. I believe jazz is the best recorded genre in general. And, for example, you know going in that anything engineered by Jim Anderson will sound great. So I've given up three of my fave engineers - Ludwig, Grundman and Anderson.
