Home Rocky Road

From Classic Rock to Progessive to hip hop to today's hot new tunes!

the only bush worth listening to...

I think its very much of its time.
I haven't heard the recent expanded re-release and feel no great need to despite loving Talking Heads (at the time).
They were one of the best bands I ever toured with, both as a 4 piece on their first UK tour (Dire Straits as support) and in their later version with the exiles from Funk(adelic) (or similar) on board.
I think that people such as Laswell and the Six Degrees artists (among many others) have explored this with a lot of success.
Now I prefer Laswell's real-player music and maybe The Midivil Pundits and others coming at it from the other side, the post-Bhangra anglo-Indians (Asian Dub Foundation amongst others).
Throbbing Gristle (and other Genesis P Orridge outfits) were always burdened by the aura that surrounded him.
Living in Brighton when he did (as I was), there was a distinctly unpleasant smell about things and several women I knew would not let their children anywhere near his house.
All rumours and heresay of course but it takes a lot in Brighton to get that bad a rep...
