Fantastic band, been a fave for years.Couldn't hope to have a better combination either! I've been a K.C. fan for oh, what, 35 years I guess. Yeesh. I've seen K.C. many times in most incarnations and even Mr. Fripp with his crafty guitar league. Oh yeah, also saw him with Peter Gabriel in '76.
P.T.'s latest Deadwing is not one of my personal favorites in their catalog, leaning a lot more towards heavy metal. In Absentia their last one started in this direction and is a good place to start. My two personal favorites are Lightbulb Sun (somewhat more acoustic) and Stupid Dream. With the exception of Signify, earlier material is trippy acid rock in the early Pink Floyd vein. But still very cool.
It's also worth knowing that Steve Wilson (P.T.'s main guy) has another project called No-Man, the first disc Flower Mouth is worth seeking out - has contributions by Mr. Fripp. Much more "laid back" than P.T. in most cases.
Trust me, you want to go to that show.
