... I developed goosebumps just thinking about Emmylou Harris performing "Michelangelo" in this setting. "Red Dirt Girl" is a stunningly powerful album IMNSHO.The reviewer commented of Knopfler's guitar playing: "He plays with scientific precision and a certain emotional restraint; he never, ever lets go and lets it rip." Well, I can see where this comment comes from, but my mind went immediately to the guitar work on "Sultans of Swing". It's very technical and precise, but I would also say that it "rips".
OT but not irrelevant: rare is it indeed for a newspaper article to send me scurrying to the dictionary. "refulgent" is the word for the day.
