A selected Club tour for Emerson with 3 other mates ( not L & P ) ,
I caught the show in New Haven Saturday night ( Toad's Place ).
Of course, he is not everyone's " cup of tea ", but hands down, he has to be the best , or at least one of the very best keyboardists in rock history.
Now in his early sixties, he played nearly 2 3 /4 hours, using various keyboards, a vintage Moog , and still displayed the virtuosity of his earlier days.
The fans who were there, are the best critics of all, as they all know the music note for note. He did not disapoint. Plyeing more deliberate rather than going for speed as in the past, he was sharp and right on.
An interesting selection of material, some old favorites, some lesser played Nice tracks , and a couple of originals.
The other members of the band were also very good, and they all seemed to be having a very good time.
Even if you are not a fan, you should consider seeing him live if you get the chance.
