You never know for sure with an OD, so there is always room for a suicide theory. Garcia said "Brent had a deeply self destructive streak". Brent was experiencing "family problems" at the time too(divorce and custody battles I think). We can only speculate. Just like Some feel Hendrix was a suicide. No one will ever know for sure. Jimi's last tour has plenty of fuel for theorists though. At Isle of wight he repeats the verse "if I dont see you no more in this world" 3 times. At the end of the show he says "thanks for the last 3 years, maybe one of these days we'll join again". Later in the tour he walks on stage and says "I've been dead a long time". Again we can only speculate because there is no definitive answer.
