Love me some Slush. Hope it gets better for you, but as always ... no guarantees stated or implied ;-)You should probably stay away from some of those Califone albums as they get a little "difficult" at times too when they break away from the traditional folk-blues sound, but that's when they start to really get my interest. Giant Sand's Chore of Enchantment is a nice one and always seems like a companion to that great Mekons album from the same year, Journey to the End of the Night. Some of the same feel, and with some backgrounds by Kelly Hogan and Neko Case and Edith Frost adding to that feel. Made a post about a bunch of those type albums about 6 months ago or so, including the Honeydogs and Giant Sand and Mekons and OP8 and ...
