The problem is the use of criteria that is both personally-selective and meaningless ("overplaying" versus "playing sixteenth notes for an hour") as **factual** basis for your favorite artists being superior to those who are noted for musicianship.
One can use this very tactic to "factually" deduce that Fisher Price is a better turntable than Linn.... Because the Fisher Price is "colorful" and the Linn is "fragile", the Fisher Price is the better turntable....
