aint memory a gas. anyhow,, i remember seeing them in greenwich village, when I was at NYU. and their first album was def. not psychedelic., Danny Kalb was an unregenerate folkie ( played with Dan Van Ronk and the Rag Time Jug Stompers and denizan of the village... Steve Katz, had been in the Even Dozen Jug Band. and Kooper---- we know what he was coming off. But he was, also, a founding member of that everfamous doo wop group, The Royal Teens ( "Short Shorts", "Believe Me") yeah i remember the outtits.. weren't we all of one nation, then!!!!. anyway, when kooper took decamped for BST, they were never they same ( can't we use that phrase about most every group :-)).
p.s. I think Andy Kulberg took off to play with Richard Greene ( a great fiddler) and formed Sea Train. Another noble experiment
anyway, no matter. here's to white lightening and music.
