His newest album, The Animal Years, is a melodic departure from his previous one, The Golden Age of Radio, which was dominated by Ritter's stream of consiousness "Me and Jiggs", a song that I count as a country classic. I'll let you decide the rest. He's coming to Copenhagen in May.
I just saw Jenny Lewis of Riley Kiley perform with the Watson Sisters in Copenhagen. Her voice is one of the sweetest and strongest I have ever heard before and I am as much in love with her at age 63 (me; she's 30) as I was with Judy Collins in the early '60s. Her lead guitarist, a guy by the name of Jonathan Rice who tried immitating Conners Obers on stage, opened. His album, Trouble is Real, will take your breath away.
Nekko Case is also coming to Copenhagen in a few weeks.
Alt Country appears to be alive and well in Copenhagen and boy am I surprised.
