As a taper, it bugs me to see the word "bootleg" used where it doesn't apply. Apparently the owner of that particular website doesn't understand or care about the difference. Almost everything listed is sourced from taper-friendly bands, but some are not.A bootleg is an unauthorized, illegal recording. While the estate of the JGB decided not allow his recordings to be hosted by archive.org, the band had a pro-taping policy, and the recordings may still be freely distributed.
Sorry for bitching, but in the mind of the general public, there is no difference between "bootlegging" and taping... which of course, there is. It just bothers me when I tell someone about my hobby and am then asked, "Is that legal?"
