Hits that they brought with them

68.115.204.170

As opposed to true covers, I'm refering to remakes that members brought with them when they formed or joined other groups.

The biggest hit was probably, "Somebody to Love" which was written by Darby Slick, Grace Slick's brother-in-law and bandmate in the Great Society, and recorded as an Autumn single produced by one Sylvester Stewart.

She also brought her own "White Rabbit" from her Great Society days, though I think only live recordings of that exist.

Then there was Spooky which was first a hit by the Classics IV, and then carried over to the Atlanta Rythm Section by Buddy Buie and James Cobb.

Mick Ralphs brought the previously cut "Ready for Love" and the unreleased "Can't Get Enough" with him from Mott the Hoople to Bad Company.

And, of course, Dazed and Confused was cut live and as a demo by the Page era Yardbirds (and correctly credited Jake Holmes as the song's composer), before making its Zeppelin debut. I believe there were several other Zep songs that made a similar journey.

Can you think of any others?
