Home Rocky Road

From Classic Rock to Progessive to hip hop to today's hot new tunes!

Have to agree

His old stuff stood alone in terms of musical uniqueness - nobody could imitate his music without sounding just like him. Welcome to my Nightmare, Love it to Death, Goes to Hell, School's Out, a couple of haunting melodies on Easy Action, the list goes on.

Beautiful ballads, eerie tunes, just plain silly tunes, sense of humor about himself and music, and extensive use of minor chords!

I've seen a lot of posts mocking him, but most of them - like those who mock so many others - don't own or know a single album really, just assume from his glam-rock image (or whatever it was he had) the substance is not there, it was there in spades.

His new stuff doesn't sound much different from every other rock group out there that's been rehashing standard inbred rock for some decades now, but to be honest I don't own any so I could be wrong. From what I've heard though, aside from his unique (much older) voice you couldn't tell it apart from most anything else that requires a tweenage video to go with it. His old stuff was true rock opera that required a genuine attention span. My fav's are Welcome to my Nightmare, Love it to Death, and School's Out (although the song "School's Out" isn't fit to be on there) - never did have Billion Dollar Babies.
