A reader was bummed, that we did not do a "triple shot" of Eric Johnson. I still have the original Capitol CD, which I bought way back, in the Spring 1990 quarter.
Since I was then a student at UC Santa Cruz, of course our clubs hit the beaches. After our activities were over, many of us stayed on the beach. If I had my Sony D-10 Discman, I'd lie down, and listen to Eric Johnson's Ah Via Musicom.
My friend CC2 lived in an apartment (as opposed to a dorm). She was from Zhangzhou, China, right across the strait from Taiwan. Her hometown was subtropical, so she (a) liked to hit the beaches, but (b) felt that Santa Cruz was cold. No matter how long she stayed outdoors in Santa Cruz, she never got a tan.
Anyway, via a patchcord splitter, I was able to hook up the D-10 Discman to CC2's mini-stereo. She remarked that, when in China, she had never heard music anything remotely close to EJ's. Heck, audiophiles typically hadn't heard anything like it, either.
Sorry, ths photo is all warped. CC2 loved EJ's "Nothing Can Keep Me From You." On that song, EJ actually sings. Really cute, in her broken English, CC2 would sing "Nothing Can Keep Me From You" in the shower. And she had the courtesy, not to let her hair clog the drain.
