35 years ago, we returned to Santa Cruz, for the Spring 1990 quarter. I went with my friend Kelli, to the Boardwalk. Over spring break, I had entered "high-end audio," and could not stop talking about it. Ever since then, high-end audio has been quite a roller coaster ride, huh?
Because we were going to hit other beaches the next morning, I slept with Kelli, in her dorm room. We kept yapping and yapping and yapping. She was kind of interested in a guy, who was in one of my classes, and whom I had known through Christian clubs. And then around 3:00 in the morning, the video for KISS' "Forever" came on MTV. This power ballad was written by Michael Bolton and KISS' Paul Stanley.
Interestingly, "Forever" peaked at #8. KISS hadn't had a Top 40 hit since 1979's "I Was Made For Lovin' You," meaning they went throughout the 80s without one. Alas, KISS haven't had a Top 40, since "Forever!"
