Depressing. When we woke up, after the October 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, we learned that Santa Cruz was damaged. Classes were canceled for a day or two. Without commercial venues to go to, we had to make our own fun. And then, it sunk in, that the town was not going to be rebuilt overnight. Even if you were a senior, you knew we were in for the long haul.
So, for us, Marillion's "Seasons End" marked the transition into the post-quake era.
Now that we audiophiles are older, we can take a deep breath, relax, and let the prog rock of "Seasons End" unwind. Although the song is depressing, it does make you feel safe and stress-free, and make you appreciate not being in the rat race.
