Maybe it was a good thing, that when I attended UC Santa Cruz from 1989-1993, Mission Hill Creamery did not exist. It is located right on Pacific Avenue Mall, just a couple blocks from the Metro Center bus depot. Had it existed when I was college, my friends and I would have spent too much money there.
Sorry, we don't have any photos from 35 years ago, when I had to go hone to San Francisco, to get more stuff for my dorm. But first, I met my then-girlfriend, KJ, at Market & Kearny. You see, she was working at a little Grain D'Or bakery (now Andersen), which was somewhere near that intersection.
KJ and I then went to my parents' place. In my room, we listened to Coroner's "Last Entertainment." KJ kept listening, but did not hear the words, "last entertainment," anywhere in the song. Neither did I. Neither did my brother.
But anyway, in terms of sound production and progressive thrash, "Last Entertainment" is sort of a good representation of the end of the 80s. It wasn't all that widespread then, and still isn't today. Nevertheless, so much time has elapsed since then, that people who study popular music have turned their attention to Coroner.
