"Oh man," exclaims my wife, "When I first heard Aerosmith's 'F.I.N.E.,' I was beating eggs, and that line caused me to look for jelly. It was a sexual awakening, and without saying anything, my friends all got squirmy, if you know what I mean."
Scylla, my friend and writing partner, recently came back from her cousin's destination wedding in Cabo. She said that, one night, an open-air bar/lounge was blasting music. When she overheard Aerosmith's "F.I.N.E.," she had a flashback, to when that originally came out 35 years ago, in late 1989. "F.I.N.E." stood for Fucked up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional.
"F.I.N.E." reinforced for Scylla that, at the hotel, lots of protection was needed.
While Scylla got her nails done, she focused on the fact that her whole generation is going through perimenopause. "As long as you're still ovulating, you can still get pregnant," she warns. "Can't believe, after all these years, we still have to say this, but you better use reliable protection." She added, "But 'F.I.N.E.' brings attention to, and thankfully makes us address, the dryness down there."
"But this song," says my wife, "Throws away all the years, makes me feel good - no, makes me feel young again - but without the stupidity."
