In the summer of 1989, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Higher Ground" was popular in Hawaii. Their funk rock version of this Stevie Wonder song actually made sense. When we got to this beach, with "Higher Ground" urging us on, my male cousin jumped off the rocks. But my aunt did not let my female cousin do the same!
