Peggy was reacting to Hammer's "Pumps And A Bump," which referred to big-booty gals wearing high heels. Since most of my female friends were nerd girls, they were not into fashion and high heels.
In the music video, which was originally restricted, Hammer ditches the baggy pants, and is only wearing Speedos and shades. This was his reaction to fame. On one hand, he felt exposed, with the corresponding lack of privacy. And OTOH, because of the scrutiny brought about by fame, he wanted to "hide" behind the shades.
