Just as we are now, 40 years ago, we were preparing for high school proms and graduations. But at our regular dances, DJs spun Slick Rick's "Children's Story." At the time, we did not know, that it itself would become heavily sampled. Although based out of New York, Slick Rick was actually born in London. He's had a patch over his right eye, which was blinded by broken glass, when he was a baby.
