As children born in the 1970s, we were taught to fear the dark. But in the late 70s, Keola & Kapono had a huge local hit, with "Honolulu City Lights."
"Honolulu City Lights" was about flying away, and watching the city lights fade away. But for us on the ground, that song made us (a) overcome the fear of the dark, and (b) embrace nighttime. Over four decades have elapsed, since it came out. When reproduced right, that original of "Honolulu City Lights" brings us back to early childhood, when night turned from a bad thing to a good thing.
