25 years ago, my parents had put their dinky Aiea studio condo up for sale or exchange. On the way back into town, we checked out a few prospective homes.
We then went to Ala Moana Beach, the place where many toddlers learn to swim, and where the elderly go for morning dips.
The water was totally flat, when we listened to Keola Beamer's "He Aloha Mele." That gave clarity to my parents, who decided that they wanted a place close to Ala Moana.
Because my dad is not very mobile, he has preferred to stay in cool San Francisco. But he does miss Hawaii. Listening to Beamer's "He Aloha Mele" puts him in a relaxed mood, and instead of longing for Hawaii, he feels thoroughly comfortable with San Francisco.
And audiophiles get pretty jazzed about it, because it's not something commonly heard.
