25 years ago, my parents wanted to upgrade from their Aiea studio condo. Relatives then took my parents around the lush windward side of Oahu.

Hapa's then-new "Pu'uanahulu" intensified the lure of the windward side. However, my parents needed to be in town, so they reluctantly gave up on Kaneohe and Kailua.

My girlfriend and I got to see Hapa, at Chai's Island Bistro, which was located at Aloha Tower. They did perform "Pu'uanahulu."
