When we were growing up in the 1980s, you would not use the word, "nappy," unless you were Black. 30 years ago, in 1994, "Nappy Heads" made many of us aware of the hip hop act, Fugees. My former coworker (above) points out that, enough time has gone by, that colleges now lecture about the Fugees' Lauryn Hill, if not the Fugees themselves.
