CAN my absolute favourite Krautrock band!
In the picture from left to right: Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit, Michael Karoli,---?, Holger Czukay and in front Damo Suzuki. But the guy between Karoli and Czukay, I don't know who he is.
In 2014 I was so lucky to hear Damo live here in Copenhagen, where I live, with the danish Oresund Space Collective. The evening was recorded and released on a triple record album, Damo Suzuki meets OSC. In the beginning of this long late night concert it was a little weak, but then evolved and went Damo good ;-) Needless to say I own this limited edition :-)

Sadly I never got to hear CAN live, but have several times heard the duo Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit. Jaki was a phenomenal drummer and my favourite. There are several recordings with this duo, it is not Krautrock but more Future Jazz and Ambient Dub like. Laid back and relaxing music.

There even is a mini LP with Friedman, Liebezeit and David Sylvian on vocal from 2005.
A friend of mine, hearing Friedman & Liebezeit recordings said, it would not be possible to do this drumming live, but then when hearing them live, his jaw dropped to the floor, seeing Jaki hitting the cymbals, from down and up(!) My friend's feet made him dancing wildly, to this funky human drumming machine, he will never forget this evening, hehe.
