I had just married my wife, and she used to date someone in Jimmy's road crew-she had most of his albums, had met him and and nearly all of the Coral Reefers and went to many shows. Our first together was at the old Aztec Bowl at San Diego State. It was my first of 8 total. It was a real blow-everyone knew there was some health issue, but had no idea he was battling cancer. We went to what turned out to be the final show with the Coral Reefers in San Diego in May and he looked and sounded great.
