"Who's Bette Davis?!" we exclaimed, during the Spring 1981 semester, when Kim Carnes' synthesizer-based "Bette Davis Eyes" came out. Since we were in 4th grade, we had no idea that Bette Davis was an Academy Award winner, and also nominated for Oscars.
Most people do not know that "Bette Davis Eyes" was written by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon. The DeShannon original came out in the mid-70s.
