I used to powerwash blinds as a summer job. (umm one summer anyway).
One of the more disgusting jobs watching the yellow slime run down the walls. The blinds were clean but what do they do with the rest of the house?
Regarding Gaga - I think with her friendship with Tony Bennett she is trying to be "real" but when you live in an "unreal world" trying to wear so many different hats (pop/jazz/metal/rock/acoustic) she has no real direction. Doing a stripped-down performance at the Oscars? I mean there is a time and place. I have no problem with her trying different styles - I like all kinds of music myself so if an artist wants to sing jazz and rock and pop and show tunes - fine - but probably best to fit the venue otherwise as you say it comes off as "fake." Especially from a kazillionaire.
OTOH - at least she tries to do something else.
