In 1996, the late Robert Miles had an international hit, with "Children." That song had such a reach, I heard it at San Francisco's Ultimate Sound. I think a customer was comparing Audio Alchemy versus California Audio Labs gear.
In early 1998, yes, the WCES took place in Las Vegas. But my friends went there for other things, including clubbing. It was at one, where we first heard Robert Miles' "Freedom." Obviously, because DJs don't identify what they are spinning, we did not know what it was, at first. It turned out that the female vocalist on "Freedom" was Kathy Sledge, the youngest member of Sister Sledge.
