As a volunteer and then as a "guest" of the cuban government. During the volunteer month of work on the Isla de Jovenes, after our work day was done in the fields, we were provided supper in the large cafetaria (~400 volunteers).

The cafeteria had a stage and many evenings there was a band playing for us while we ate.

I swear I recognize some of the songs (although it was a long time ago).
