Christoph Von Dohnanyi and Cleveland did the Mendelssohn 3 on recording...... There were not many works that I thought Dohnanyi was tops, but the second movement of the Mendelssohn 3 is electric, even when merely sampling the track..... (This was very early in Dohnanyi's tenure..... This is what made me think this was the greatest orchestra of all time.)

Aside from Janacek's "Taras Bulba" and the Dvorak 6, his best effort on recording.
