Saw these guys a couple weeks ago-- http://www.waybacks.com/ Well worth checking out.
I've been listening to one of their shows I download off archive.org and really want to see them. I pretty much will only give attention to bands that give their live shows away. Then if I like them, I'll go to a show and then probably buy a few CDs directly from the band. Well these guys were worth three CDs.
They're acoustic-- acoustic guitars, upright bass, fiddle, mandolin, a bit of slide guitar now and then but also drums. These guys are tough to stuff into a genre. Bluegrass, jazz, celtic, folk-rock, acoustic-rock, jazz, eastern European folk, jam-grass, a little bit of all that thrown in.
