Just read with regret of the closing of Tonic in NYC. Done in by rising rents and encroachment of condomium gentry on both sides. Final performance was John Zorn's axis of Marty Erlich, Ned Rothenberg, and Marc Ribot playing until 4.30AM. Ribot sticking it out on solo acoustic until cuffed and removed by police. In the words of Don Henley, "Your little protest was merrily rejected."
