Given that the Lifeboat project (or whatever it was called) was a bit of a Hitchcockian mcguffin throughout the film, it was perhaps too much deus ex machina to have such an impressive, well-scrubbed science vessel materialize at the end. like Jacques Cousteau in the Calypso floating around out there, though god forbid a Frenchmen save the day for an Englishman.Well-scrubbed? I thought it looked liked a notch about a fishing ship. They should have used a more rundown ship to make it ambiguous if this really was the human project, or just a random ship (which is what I think they were going for, but didn't really accomplish).
