Every Sunday from 8 PM to midnight U.S. Eastern Standard Time is a great show on the Philadelphia station WRTI. It's called The Historical Approach to the Positive Music hosted by Harrison Ridley Jr. The internet radio link I use to access WRTI is:http://wrti.streamguys.us/wrti
His shows usually consist of the works of one or a very small number of musicians, usually timed near their birthday. He's had some super shows featuring Monk, Dizzy, Max Roach, and on and on. He often plays rare stuff not available on CD. He has a friendly, kind of folksy manner, is very informative and a pleasure to listen to. Sometimes he'll play rare interviews (like Dizzy talking about how he played with Bird at nightclubs that didn't open until 3AM!). When he is on target, I'm generally glued to my listening chair for the entire four hours of the show.
Highly recommended.
