there was a girl about 17 or 18 picking up all the Led Zeppelin LPs in the store. I was talking to the store owner at the time who is in his mid-30s and grew up listening to R&B, funk, beats and rap and he was telling me that straight jazz music was growing on him. These are specific examples that only illustrate a larger musical zeitgeist. Classic rock and jazz will still be talked about 10 or 50 years from now.On the other hand, I wonder whether classical music will survive. I don't see a sustaining audience among younger folks, in the record stores or at classical concerts.
