I'm having a little trouble finding profound violin pieces, on the same level as Beethoven late piano sonatas, Bach Cello Suites, Beethoven late quartets.Actually, I guess Bach violin sonatas and partitas are in there, but what other violin music/artist/recording do you feel in the same league?
P.S. I have all the usual violin concertos (Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, etc), and while nice, I don't feel the same strong profundity as other pieces mentioned above...
