Gary's tuning is dreadful on some of the Jarrett tracks. Plus he was always a showy player fond of fast technical bits which are in fact under the fingers, rather than going for the harmonically difficult stuff like Scott laFaro. For tuning, listen to Eddie Gomez play classical works - weep all ye bass players out there. Plus Gomez could really solo. Better player all round - and there are others.
