...or, is you ask me, of the year thus far:From www.viktoriamullova.com:
Not only has she just released a new recital disc on Onyx, with Katia Labeque (a truly intriguing collaboration), but in March 2007, following a big European tour of an all-Bach programme with Ottavio Dantone on harpsichord, organ and fortepiano, Viktoria Mullova will go into the studio to record the complete Sonatas, also for ONYX.
What thrilling news! The twelve-year wait is over.
The artist-driven Onyx deserves all the kudos for bringing us these heavenly renditions. Do a service not just to yourself but also to all the independent-thinking, intelligent, free, and creative forces in music industry and buy whatever Onyx brings out, first and foremost the spectacular Mullova issues they have been and will be putting out. There is very little that's artistically in the same class today (and sonically, programmatically).
