IIRC Emmanuel certainly functioned very well as tenor (better than Potter or even Richard Lewis) in that Victrola Pirates Of Penzance - voice is extremely even with a thrilling ring on top plus the contralto was outstanding (and cast had Martyn Green) The new CD of Ivor Emmanuel although not operetta is excellent. (be nice to have Richard Lewis recordings) Freddy
