Turandot has got to be the least often performed Puccini opera, with fewer stagings even than "Trittico". Might have something to do with both the Calaf and Turandot being real throatbusters requiring Wagnerian voices with Italian legato. There hasn't been a performance here in SF since I've been in the Bay Area, coming on 35 years now.
