... which is to say, it proves that some people around here have no freekin idea what they're talking about.Anyone who actually believes that a mechanical reproduction of a Coltrane solo proves something about Coltrane's art is obviously not a very deep thinker. ALL RECORDED MUSIC is nothing but a mechanical reproduction. The fact that someone can devise a machine that can play Giants Steps tells us nothing more about the music or musicianship of Coltrane than the fact that player piano can play the Moonlight sonata tells us anything about Beethoven.
