two musicians win Macarthur "genius" grants

Jazz violinist Regina Carter and saxophnist/composer John Zorn were awarded Macarthur "genius" grants yesterday. They get $100,000 a year for five years, no strings attached. Nice to see musicians recognized at such a high level.
