it's contingent on mood?I remember Eno writing up some stuff when he first started inventing it. Music for Airports was designed to be interesting if you focused on it, - but ignorable if you didn't want to.
I love something like Airports most of the time, - probably because of the vocal. Did you ever hear the Bang on a Can version? Excellent!!
But, - I almost always dislike Discreet Music, - the treated and slowed down classical piece. Conversely, - I almost like Music for Films, - but there are times when I'm so far out of that mood and want songs in a traditional 3.5 minute, verse-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus....
Something like AAphex Twin, Selected Ambient Works Vol. II, is great, - but if one is not in the mood..... That and Eno are always welcome while reading in bed; to fall asleep with....is this the real me, or a mere facsimile?
