I find Takk to be the best of the three Sigur Ros records content-wise. Sonically, I find them to be all about equal, - with the middle one.. ()
being a touch better, but that could be because it's very sad, slow, homogenous, content-wise.
Talking about the content of Takk, - it's more commercial. And, there is a wider variety of instrumentation with lots of acoustic piano, and of course, the orchestrated string section. I really appreciate the power of the lone solo piano on some songs that ends up building tension, and finally climaxing into a ton of noise, and flurry of crazy drums. Their drummer is truly amazing, and if you see him live; you will be amazed.
The second recording, () is much slower, sadder, and maybe more powerful, - especially if you listen to the whole recording.
