Today's hip tunes. New music that isn't Classic Rock or Jazz!

It was a fun show over all. The venue was the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. It was pretty nice (my first time there). The sound system was typical. Haven't seen the band since Bumbershoot a few years back. As usual, they played songs from all through their catalog plus a couple covers. They were mostly pretty tight. A guitarist who I've not seen before, messed up what I think was the starting to a new song twice and then Doug launched into a standard. I couldn't tell if he was really pissed or just being a pro. Unfortunately, they only played three new songs out of about a 15 song set (two song encore). Kinda weird considering a new album is supposed to come out next fall. Still, it was a blast to see one of my favorites. Catch'em when they come. Off to see Stephen Malkmus tomorrow at the same place. That's it, it's five and I'm going home to listen to music.
